Who We Are

Cambridge Mortgage Investment Corporation was established in 2007 and has become a prominent non-institutional lender in Western Canada. Our strong relationships within the banking and mortgage brokerage industries have enabled us to structure a portfolio of high-quality mortgage assets. Through continuous refinement of our underwriting process and attainment of valuable knowledge from the marketplace, we have provided a wide range of residential financing solutions to our borrowers.

The Management Team

Jonathon has been in the mortgage brokerage industry for over 20 years. He has overseen many mortgage transactions both residential and commercial, large and small during that time frame. He has been active in both the institutional and private mortgage markets, facilitating financing solutions for clients in both purchase and refinance situations. Jonathon has been in a management and leadership role for origination and fund management companies throughout his career.

Francis has over 25 years experience in the mortgage business. His expertise runs from small residential mortgages to the larger commercial and private loan placements. He has had many satisfied clients over the years and is regularly consulted by others in the mortgage industry for his input on mortgage related matters. He provides strength of experience and knowledge to the Cambridge Mortgage Investment management team.

Frank Tharakan has been with Cambridge Mortgage Investment Corporation since January 2015. He manages compliance, certain reporting requirements and administrative verticals of the fund. His experience and expertise encompass monitoring existing mortgage investments, investor and client relations and implementing organization wide regulatory changes. Frank completed his MBA from the Sauder School of Business (UBC) and worked as a technology consultant for banking solutions at Accenture (USA) prior to joining Cambridge MIC.

Marra has over 30 years experience working in the legal profession in the field of mortgages. Since the inception of Cambridge Mortgage Investment Corporation, Marra has been involved in registering the security of its residential and commercial mortgages as well as dealing with subscriptions from investors. Marra is experienced in mortgage registration and compliance requirements as well as aspects relating to title insurance and property insurance that protect our securities and the assets backing those securities. Marra administers aspects of the mortgage portfolio as well as investor relations. As part of the management team, she is involved in the general overall operations of Cambridge MIC.

The Business Development Team

Martina brings to Cambridge 20 years of mortgage industry experience with the last 7 years focused on business development. She has an extensive background in alternative lending with a proven ability to work with our Broker Partners in assessing deals and building relationships. Martina is known for bringing passion and enthusiasm to product education and marketing. She has received numerous industry accolades and recognitions including CMP Top BDM in 2018 and Optimum Mortgage’s BDM of the year in 2016. Her diversified experience in the industry provides her brokers a unique perspective from both a sales and underwriting perspective.

Trevor has been a licensed mortgage broker since 2004. Trevor has tremendous experience providing private mortgage solutions for referring brokers and their clients. He has a proven track record of finding creative and common sense solutions to lending in order to resolve and close complex deals.

He is known for his quick turnaround, and going above and beyond on every deal to ensure that the experience of both the broker & their client, exceed industry standards.

Trevor Cullen is a sub-mortgage brokers registered with Peet & Cowan Financial Services Inc., which is a brokerage and management entity of Cambridge Mortgage Investment Corporation.

Chris has been in the banking, investment and financial services for the past 20 years. Chris has worked and participated in funding over a $100 million of public and private financing for various types of business and personal requirements. He has spent his financial career at Phillips, Hager and North, CIBC, TD Bank and Clairewood Partners.

He is very experienced in structuring residential and commercial mortgages, business and personal credit, investments, public market financing and cash management services.
